Beverage Jug

A gourd that has been dried and hollowed, used to carry beverage to the field or any long journey away from home. Usually plugged with a dried corn cob. The term is comes from Nahuatl.
The workers were accustomed to taking a large beverage jug to the fields to ensure that they remained hydrated in the heat of the summer sun.
