Chicken (Generic term: Hen, Rooster)

By Anonymous (not verified) | 7:09 PM CST, Sat February 01, 2025
Etymolgy of the word - At the time when foreign entities invaded the Maya communities long ago, there were no animals that we now know as chickens. Therefore, the Maya gave the strange new animal the name "kaxlan", which is adapted and adopted from the word "Castellano" (Spaniard). Many terms that did not exist until Castellanos brought them to the western hemisphere were also given the denotation, "kaxlan".
The child asked if he could feed the chickens every morning before going to school.
